Lone Star College System offers a variety of benefit programs to meet the needs of its employees. To be eligible for benefits an employee must:

  • Be employed over one-half time (50 percent full-time equivalent) or more; or
  • Be hired for a term of four and one-half months or longer; or
  • Occupy a regular full-time position.

This area provides general information about the LSCS employee benefits program. The purpose of the summary is to acquaint you and the eligible dependents with benefits available to you in order to select the coverage which best meets your individual needs.

Retirement Programs
Your retirement options under the Teacher's Retirement System (TRS), Optional Retirement Program (ORP), and Teacher's Insurance & Annuity Association and College Retirement Equity's Fund (TIAA-CREF).

ERS Benefits
List of insurance carriers LSCS currently uses and their rates to employees under the Employee Retirement System of Texas.

Lone Star College System Benefits
Information about EyeMed Vision rates, credit unions, direct deposit, education assistance, employee assistance program, long-term care insurance, Prepaid Legal Casualty, Inc., SKIP, TexFlex, US savings bonds, wellness and worker's compensation.

Holiday and Leaves
Information on procedures and acceptable absences from work including vacation and sick time.

Summer Enrollment 2008 - 2009

Employee Retirement System (ERS) Summer Enrollment for fiscal year 2008-2009 will be July 28 through August 22, 2008. Summer Enrollment is your annual opportunity to make changes to your benefits.
